Cancellation of the 2020 Season
Posted Jun 7, 2020

Hello Timberwolf Youth Baseball community!

First, your board is so thankful for your patience and support while we patiently waited to communicate next steps for the 2020 baseball season. We had so hoped we would be offering a modified season, but that is just not possible this year. It is with a heavy heart that the Timberwolf Youth Baseball Board has voted to cancel the 2020 season.  Emails just went out with details about the cancellation.

We are so sad to see this official cancellation, but with Clackamas County Junior Baseball officially ending the season it was time for Timberwolf Youth Baseball to do the same. Please check your email and respond as soon as possible so we can close out the official season.

We understand that some coaches are still interested in doing drills, practices, scrimmages and tournament games. We encourage you to reach out to your coaches to discuss these possibilities.

With the official cancellation your player will still receive their jersey top(s). These were already made when the COVID-19 closures began, so we will be distributing the jerseys to coaches and they will get them out to teams soon.

We hope you are all staying healthy and finding ways to enjoy youth sports as things begin to re-open. We look forward to seeing you on the field soon!

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the league at president@tualatinyouthbaseball.com

Best,

Your Timberwolf Youth Baseball Board

Letter from our President

Welcome to Timberwolf Youth Baseball!

Timberwolf Youth Baseball is pleased to introduce our 2020 baseball season.

We will be continuing our successful and widely popular T-Ball and Pioneer programs with no changes.

Again this year, the rest of our baseball association teams will be playing Junior Baseball in the Clackamas County Junior Baseball Association. Teams are selected by Grade (3rd & 4th Minors, 5th & 6th Juniors, and 7th & 8th Seniors) and skill level (Federal, American, and National) after players try-out and are evaluated.

Junior Baseball provides a framework for youth to develop and refine their basic skills within a team oriented environment. The program stresses continuity in age grouping, competition at equal levels of ability, a progression in playing distances (the fields get bigger as the players progress), and teaches the complete game of baseball (leading off, stealing, and holding runners). Best of all, when it comes time for post season play, a team goes as a unit, without the heartbreak, and sometimes unjust All-Star selection process.

All of our players have the opportunity to advance to District and State tournaments with a chance to succeed at their playing level.

The Tualatin Youth Baseball board continues to evaluate our association to ensure that all players have the greatest opportunity to develop their skill level through clinics, coaching, and league play. If you have suggestions or would like to volunteer to help in any way, please contact a member of the board.

We look forward to seeing you at the ballpark!

Darrell Pizer
Timberwolf Youth Baseball President
